WELLSVILLE - On July 30, 2018, our Heavenly Father received our angel wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Born Oct. 1, 1944, in Brigham City, Utah, to Dorothy and Robert Burton, Carolyn lived a wonderful life full of love and adventure. She was the youngest of four daughters who grew up on a dairy and sugar beet farm in Fielding, Utah. The farm taught the value of hard work, dedication and a good home-cooked meal.
On April 1, 1966, Carolyn was sealed to the love of her life, Jackie Dee Orton, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married 52 years. Carolyn loved being a mother. She had a beautiful daughter and four wonderful sons. Family was a source of great joy and happiness. She had a radiant smile and was always showing love and kindness. She freely gave hugs to those she knew.
Carolyn was a dedicated and faithful member of The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints. With her husband, she served three full-time missions for the church in Alaska, Tokyo and London. She served as the Mission Mom while Jackie presided over the Alaska Anchorage Mission. She was a temple worker in the Logan, Dallas, Anchorage, Tokyo and London temples. She served in many other callings including stake Relief Society president, ward Relief Society president and Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by husband, Jackie Dee Orton; sisters, Larene and Mary; children, Nathan (Andrea), Rebecca (Chris Staley), Andrew (Stacey), David, Daniel (Summer); 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her sister Cordelia.
To celebrate her life, we invite you to her funeral services. A viewing will be held this Sunday, Aug. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, located at 34 E. Center St., Logan, Utah.
