Lynn Jensen

December 19, 1943 ~ June 6, 2017

Lynn R. Jensen Brigham City Utah - Passed away June 6, 2017, at Heritage Park Care Center in Roy, Utah, after a brief battle with dementia and heart failure. Lynn was born on December 19, 1943, in Bear River City, Utah, to Brigham Woodruff and Virga Forsgren Jensen.

As a child, Lynn was raised on the family farm and learned the value of hard work while working along side his father hoeing sugar beets. This began his lifelong-love for John Deere Tractors.

Lynn graduated from Bear River High School in 1962 and quickly entered the workforce, going to work as a taxi driver for Thiokol. Lynn truly loved his job and remained as a dedicated employee until his retirement in 1997, after 35 years of service.

Lynn married Carol Lee Anderson on September 2, 1966, and although the marriage would later end in divorce, they welcomed a beautiful daughter, Nicole Lynn, in August 1975. Nicole enjoyed being the primary focus of both parents while being raised as a single child, but along with that title came the sole responsibility of caring for her father for the better of the last two decades. Whether it be grocery shopping, or getting him to and from doctors appointments, she did so with unrelenting love, devotion, and the world of patience. Even Lynn would agree with that!

Lynn spent six years in the Army Reserves spending time in Washington, and would often tell us his intolerance of heat came from too many drills under the scorching Death Valley Sun in July. Lynn loved talking about antique cars and had the ability to tell you make, model, year and engine just by seeing their tail lights.

Lynn was a member of the LDS Church and, although he was inactive for most of his life, Lynn had a very Christ-like, giving heart that few of us were honored to see. Lynn always made sure the ones he cared about most were always provided for and never expected or asked for recognition.

Lynn spent his Sundays watching his favorite black #3 Chevy turning laps on the race track, or watching the Steel Curtain of his beloved Steelers.

Lynn is survived by his incredible daughter, Nicole (Scott) Lancaster; and the apple of his eye, his grandson, Harrison Brig Lancaster all of Roy; as well has his two "self-adopted" grandsons, Logan and Braxton Lancaster also of Roy. He is also survived by his brother, Jerald Jensen of Brigham City.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ron Jensen and grandson, Samuel Robert Lancaster.

The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Tricia Ferrin, the loving staff at Heritage Park Care Center and Inspiration Hospice, for all the care they provided in allowing Lynn to pass from this life with dignity. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Primary Children's Medical Center in the name of Lynn's late grandson, Samuel Robert Lancaster.

Family and friends may pay their respects at a viewing to be held on Friday June 16, 2017, at Myers Mortuary in Brigham City, Utah, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Roy City Cemetery at 12 p.m.
