David Sorensen

David Ariel Sorensen was born Dec. 7,1943 in Tremonton, a son of Ariel Elmer and Luana Baker Sorensen.  He was reared and educated in Howell and is a graduate of Bear River High school.  He attended Utah State University and Weber State college.

He was married to JoAnn Korth on July 1, 1966 in the Logan LDS Temple.

He was employed as an airplane instrument repairman at Hill Air Force Base.

An active member of the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he had served a mission in the Southern Far East mission from 1963-1965.  He had served as YMMIA superintendent and as a Sunday school teacher in the Weber State college Second LDS ward.  In the Howell ward he was the teacher trainer, a sunday school teacher, advisor to the Teachers Quorum, a home teacher, and advisor to the Boy Scout troop.  He was a member of the Seventys Quorum in the Bear River stake at the time of his death.

Surviving are his widow, one son and one daughter, Michael David and Sharon Rae Sorensen, all of Howell; his parents, Howell; three brothers and four sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Annette) West, Ogden; Charles E. Sorensen, Logan; Mariel Sorensen, J. Alvin Sorensen, Carl G. Sorensen, Marie Sorensen, Dianne Sorensen, all of Hoswell; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer P. Sorensen, Howell; Mr. and Mrs. Elzie Bigelow, Salt Lake City; the great-grandparents, Mrs. Amanda Smith, Logan; Mr. and Mrs. George R. Williams, LaVerkin.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 12, at 1 pm in the Howell LDS ward chapel.  Friends may call at the Rogers Mortuary in Tremonton Friday from 7 to 9 pm and at the Howell ward Relief Society room Saturday from 11 am until time of service.

Internment will be in the Riverview Cemetery at Tremonton.
