Obituary for Dan L. Whiting

Dan L. Whiting May 22,1944 - July 02, 2017 Devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on July 2nd, 2017. Dan was born to Ray and Jetta Whiting and raised in Plymouth, Utah. Brother to RaEtta Jones (Thayne) Mesa, AZ, Judy Sandall (Jay) Tremonton, UT. Married to Lynda Whiting for 45 years. Dad to Becky Dunbar (Larry) Thornton, CO. Dena Nuss (Scott) Clearfield, UT. Jill Grover, Longmont, CO. Jason Whiting (Marcie) Thornton, CO. "Gramps" to 13 grand children and 8 great grand children. Dan proudly served in the Vietnam War in the 552nd military police company. Dan retired from the Department of Education after 30 years of service. In retirement Dan volunteered at the Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum, He will be greatly missed by all. Preceded in death by both parents, one brother in law and one grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum, 12 Garden Center, Broomfield Colorado 80020.

Peace will be with Dan.I enjoyed his company and loved his wit.We had a lot of great times together. I will see him on the other side of the veil. My condolences are with his wife and family.

I really liked Dan...such a fun, nice guy, He used to call me when we were in the 7th grade, can't remember the exact conversationts but,he always asked..... what did  you have for supper?  Prayers and comfort to his family

Dan was a great individual and fun to be around. We had a few double dates together in high school. We which his family peace and love for their Dad, Husband, Grandfather, Greatgrandfather and friend to all of us. We all loved Dan and know that he is well taken care of at present. Love Jeri and Darrel

Dan, I will miss those lunch dates we had wlth my son and you when we visited our son in Denver, I cant belive I was in Denver two days after you had passed away and I tryed calling you to meet me for lunch, not knowing you had passed, I will miss you Dan Verl
