Sandra Able (Nielsen)

OGDEN – Sandra Marie Nielsen, 56, peacefully passed away on July 24, 2001.

She was born on August 23, 1944 to Alvin Carle and Betty Alice Struhs. She was reared and educated in Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Garland, Utah. As a young lady, she was adopted by Ernest and Mary Abel along with her brother Laurence and sister Rayma.

She was married to Robert R. Frye in October of 1960 in Garland, UT and they later divorced. She married Verl R. Nielsen in Elko, NV in1968 and they were later divorced.

Sandra was known for her exceptional cooking, quick wit and good heart. She enjoyed reading, sewing and crocheting. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She always enjoyed the company of good friends.

Sandra was preceeded in death by her grandparents Herman and Jesse Struhs, her parents, Alvin Carle and Betty Alice Struhs and adopted mother Mary Westmoreland Abel.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Sandra is survived by her two children Patricia Ann Carlsen and Robert Todd Frye; her daughter-in-law, JoAnn Frye; brothers Laurence (Nan) Abel, Clearfield, Ed (Bonnie) Abel, Orem, Danny (Joyce) Weaver, Layton, Charles (Carlana) Brown, Abington, PA; her sister, Rayma Petracek and Ernest and Audrie Abel. She is also survived by her grandchildren John Adam Carlsen, Kaylee Frye, Hollie Gardner, Brandi Gardner and David Gardner. Sandra also leaves behind her special friend, Sam.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, UT.
