Dennis Ward

Riverside-  Dennis George Ward, 57, surrounded by loving family, passed away Sunday Dec. 23 2001 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, after a sudden illness.

He was born Aug. 31 1944 in Tremonton son of Joseph Voss and Zina Marie Baker Ward. He married Donna Rae Udy Oct. 22 1965. their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple.

He serverd in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967.

Dennis was reared and educated in the Bear River Valley and graduated from Bear River High School. Before settling in Riverside he spent time in California and Dugway. He was activly involved with the Utah State Cutter and Chariot Racing where he served as Secretary. In the world Cutter and Chariot he served as both historian and publisher of the Annual Magizine, and was the photographer for the Golden Spike Cutter and Chariot racing. Dennis loved to visit with friends and family and especially loved cooking for them. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and Sunday dinner with his family.

He was a High Priest in the Belmont 2nd Ward where he served as Scout Leader and in the Sunday School Presidency.

Dennis is survived by his wife Donna and their five children, Jerry Ward, Tonya (Dale) Jones, and Krista Dawn Ward  all of Riverside. Scott (Camille) Ward, Richmond; Brian (Alisha) Ward, Tremonton: six grandchildren,  Haggon, Timbarlee, Alyssa, Kyler, Bowdie, and Cooper. He is also servived by two brothers Byron and Randy Ward and two sisters Trina Gibbs and Jan Ward.

Funeral services will be held Friday Dec. 28 2001, 11 a.m. at Belmont Ward Chapel with Bishop Jay Capener conducting.  Friends may call Thursday Dec. 27th 6 to 8 p.m. at Rogers and Tayloy Funeral Home 111 North 100 East Tremonton, and Friday at the church from 9:15- 10:30 a.m.

Internment will be in Riverside Cemetery with military honors by V.F.W. Post 1695.
